Use a rumtopf or similar

One litre vodka
One pound strawberries
One pound white sugar

Stir to dissolve as much as you can of the sugar then

Stir at least once a day for five days.

strain and bottle

It is ready to drink at once

Serve a spirit measure in a glass topped with very dry ice cold Cava.
Beautiful colour delicious flavour.

Use the strawberries left from this to make trifles, they will keep in the fridge for ages in a plastic container. WARNING don't eat and drive.

Strawberries don't make great wine but they make wonderful a puree for on ice cream. Jam is good too, of course.

Strawberries make a very nice wine.

They also make very nice schnapps.

Perfect timing finding this!!! With a fab PYO place minutes up the road I know I'm going to be spending loads of time there!! My two boys were great too - thought they'd be pains but the youngest enjoyed wandering around (didn't go far and was behaving well!!) while my 5yo enjoyed picking them - albeit very slowly, but he did pick good ones - thought I'd have to do some quality control, but no.

The strawberry vodka/schnapps sounds fab!

Just tried making the strawberry liqueur, it is absolutely wonderful!

Got just about a litre and a half of liqueur, hoping to try and keep away from it until Christmas!
