there was a thread last year about how late we can sow leeks - it is usually May but to aid the debate I sowed some on 26th August last year, divided the crop into 2 and half were cloched and the other half left to fend for themselves - today they are just under an inch thick and I've harvested some of them destined for a Vignole tomorrow :D
they smell great which will be an indication of their flavour which will be wonderful I am sure - it was worth trying it in my opinion for an early crop - I'll leave the remainder for a couple of weeks then they'll be harvested as I need the space

all ready plant some but i found not so many seeds
in packs this year.so hoping their be ready march/may
next year.
