a lot of people go into hatching eggs without thinking it through, sounds like you know what you're doing  ;)

Wow Patrick - you certainly have caught the bug!!!

Sounds exciting - are you going to go for eating or laying or pretty varieties?

Keep us posted!  You will probably need to make another house - and another - and another!!!  Still if you are going to eat the cockerels and probably a few girls you will have good turnaround.

Are you talking chickens or turkeys?

I had heard that chickens and ducks can get on!  Don't know about any others though.

I am sure someone will be along in a minute that has tried it!!

im going to get some light Sussex chickens(good egg+meat birds) and some Cream Legbar chickens (cute little coloured eggs) and i am told they will all get on aslong as they have enough room. so once i get the eggs cooking in the incubator i will have to redesign my hut and run, to allow room for the old and new birds.

Sounds brilliant Patrick!

I couldn't do "the deed" or indeed pluck or do any of the gory stuff!  I am one that likes to buy and cook out of a a supermarket packet!!  Although one of the women on my site in her 70's is game to eat any of mine that fall by the wayside!

Are you able to do the "deed". I have seen something on the net with a cornet shaped metal thingy which is meant to do it - but I can't be around when that sort of thing happens - I am silly but too squeamish!

You will have to update us with pictures of your redesigned housing!
