If you can imagine a leather sandal with a broad leather strap across and a round piece at the front to put your big toe through, anyone know how to stretch the leather which is tight on mi foot ;)

Brooks Proofide, available from cycle shops, should do it.
with shoes you stuff them with wet paper. how about wetting the leather and finding something, like a wooden dowel and ease it in and then let it dry
Take your socks off, They might fit better then.
You need to take a good walk through some wet grass... at least that's what you do for shoes.
... and what has this got to do with "the basics"?!?!
I've a couple of canisters of Punch (est 1851) Shoe Stretcher...so I reckon the problem's been around for quite a while, then? Think I bought them at Woolies.
Ollie,
Any question welcome, don't be afraid to ask, :)
Mr.S, ACE was sortov on the right track re: socks. As well as the shoe stretcher stuff, when/if a shoe pinches, I stretch it by ....yep! wearing socks in them round the house - found that going up and down stairs particularly good :)...this gradually stretches the leather. Any help?

Self portrait ACE?
Corrrr!!!
Soak them and shove an empty bottle in hard.
Rub baby oil on the inside and wear them, failing that put a compede plaster on your foot where they rub. I have tried wedging a large hot potato in a shoe but it didn't work very well. ::)
Don't go to NZ in the summer Ace!
Standard summer work uniform of middle aged males in NZ (well it was 20 years ago....) particularly estate agents and coach drivers.
Short sleeved shirt, tie, smart shorts, knee length 'walk socks' and sandals....I bet they're still wearing them!
get a tub of lard and smear it all over, leave the lard on whilst wearing and bingo......your leather will be stretched and a bonus, your toes will be basted from the lard to give them that all over tan. simple. ;)
I have friend who swears that potatoes are great for stretching pinchy shoes !!! ::)
