Title: blooming book club
Post by: debster on June 03, 2008, 18:10:15
I belonged to a book club and took my quota of books and more. i cancelled my membership by telephone and e mail and everything stopped then out of the blue books arrived, returned them then repeated the cancellation process this happened twice then books arrived but i managed to give them straight back to the courier, last time they arrived i rang them up and told them that if they sent me any more books i would not be returning them this was approx 3 months ago, nothing more received until yesterday when the courier had left a parcel under my garden table, i have not signed for it and i dont intend letting them know they are here if they want them back they can contact me, i have no contact details for the company although they are obviously inside the parcel, do you guys think this is the best course of action ? i am so peed off with it all

Contact watchdog the bbc programme.

Next you might get bailiff letters asking for payment.  I personally wouldnt take the chance, heard too many horror stories

unsolicited mail, get the details of the company, send a letter (keep a copy, with the date on), tell them you have unsolicited mail from their company, they must make arrangements to pick the parcel up..you have cancelled it twice, don't let the bullies win  ;D

Hi Debster,

How did you pay in the past? In other words...have they got your card details? if so get in touch with your bank and make sure they know not to pay them. and has been said, send them a letter, it might be better recorded delivery, that way they shouldn't be able to claim that they didn't receive it

i used to pay them over the phone or via email pay pal so they shouldnt be able to get any money the address is on the outside of the parcel, my name is even wrong it is in my maiden name and i have been married for 2 years so they wont be able to get details cos no bank account exists in that name any more, i will send them a letter recorded delivery or whatever telling them again, will keep a copy and tell them to collect it if they want it but if they send any more i will not be contacting them let them dare try and send the bailiffs in  ;D

hi debster to my understanding of the law in this matter is the same in most circumstances like this make the company aware that you have recieved thi delivery , and ask for them to send you the means to return the goods to them free of charge or they arrange to collect within 28 days of them delivering the goods to you .

if they fail to do either the goods remain your property

it is there responsability to provide you the means of return and to have no cost to you
