oh boy, can't wait to see the after pics - not call 'saint' for nothing then ;D
Got a bit of work to do then?!
Actually it doesn't look too bad at all - does it?!
Good luck with it and we will see your progress soon!
Don't overdo it and hurt yourself tho!
Old Bird
:D
It's actually one of the better ones.
Took more pictures last night and also took a picture of one of the really bad ones that are available.
So I will post them later.
The deal I have been offered is, if I get it partly cleared in the next 6 months I can have next year rent free.
Had a good look last night and it is not to bad in the middle so will make a start there
That sounds like a fair deal!
Time now to stop chatting on t'net and get working!!
Old Bird
;D
Good luck but don't try to do too much at a time. Looking forward to after pics.
Wow looks like you have your work cut out for you but i am sure its all doable so good luck. You might want to think about covering over what you dont think you will get to with old carpet to help smother the weeds while you work on the other ones.
Are there any plants that you can save?
I found getting a hot waterbottle ready and left in the car when you drive back helps with the stiffness.
I'm sure I can see some comfrey in the first picture, near to the bottom right hand side of pic, at least it's something!
Take it slowly, dig what you can, and out black plastic over the rest. Ignore the macho brigade who think you're a horticultural failure if you can't double-dig six acres every day before breakfast.
Had an enjoyable couple of hours today, working on it.
Never noticed when I first looked it over, but there is a apple tree at the bottom.
Also noticed today that there are a good few raspberries coming out
Did i notice ashed at the bottom? As said before dont try to do it all in one go thats the best way to loose hope, see if you can hire or scrounge a strimmer, are you allowed fires?if so strim then napalm the lot saving whats good!!!
Managed to get hold of a strimmer and have done an hour on it this morning.
Doing as the site secretary advised, little and often.
We are allowed fires but not between the 1st of May and the 1st of October, so not able to burn anything at the moment.
Will post more pictures in the next few days to show how we are doing
Well it is likely to look overgrown now - but you'll soon make a difference and this time next year you won't believe how much work you will have done. Good luck
Keep 'em coming
It will be amazing when its done. Looking forward to your next lot of pics ;) ;)
Not done much, only managed a couple of hours after work.
But here are some more pictures of my progress so far

Looking noticeably improved already :)
well done, youve done loads already!good luck with it,this time next year you wont know yourself, enjoy! x
got some work to do there but step by step...
Dig each bit thoroughly and get all that couch grass and thistle out to save hours later, cover a bit when done if not planting.
Our mistake was go mad and dig the lot and although had great crops with all the stuff we added to soil, we were not thorough enough.
In Hind-sight ::)
Now struggling on 2nd plot because we were too hasty!
Good luck
