Title: Growing courgettes/cucumbers in pots - advice please
Post by: Crystalmoon on June 03, 2008, 08:33:20
Hi has anyone succesfully grown these in pots?
If so what size of pot is needed?
Is there any special treatment required for this way of growing?
Thanks  ;D

Yup

Last year I ran out of room and got a great big pot that had had a tree in it, filled it up with well rotted manure and plonked the courgette plant in it.

It was doing wonderfully well until a car ran into the allotment in August and smashed it to pieces.

You can grow both on a compost heap if you need to.

If you are using a big pot then put it where you need it before filling it up because once it is full you wont shift it.

Wow what a cool idea Tim  ;D
I will try this with the next lot Im planting out (yellow variety).
My large black pots are probably the same size as the half a grow bag so will leave my original plants alone for now & see how they progress.
