Hi All,
Just wondering when people hold their AGM. We have ours in spring but it makes it hard work for the Committee as it is a busy time on the plot. Knowledge on when other sites hold their AGM (and why) would be useful.
Obviously out of growing season potentially reduces the numbers involved; this is probably not a good thing.
Thanks
OC
We have had them in april but this year are having ours in December and having a social evening after to try and attract more plotties at attend
Ours is generally the beginning of October - they then hand out the seeds that have been ordered by the end of September.
The committee always get someone in to speak about gardening and last year we had a super guy who had worked in a large estate on Exmoor but had just retired - but - gosh he droned on and on and on ........

;D
Our's is in April but only well attended by plot holders if they want something done on the site or want to moan ;D
Our constitution states when we hold the AGM and the end of year accounts, so it never changes.

Early February. The fees are due on January 1st and the AGM is the last date for payment, so quite a few folk come just to pay up. It seems to work because (the serious gardeners, at least) are just beginning to get itchy about sowing & planning.
1st saturday in january, as we're a small site, we usually get good attendance :)
Last week in November... large site (108 members) lousy turn out but this year's promises to be lively!! ( If we manage to get there without another SGM!)
:-X
November. Big site 200+ plots. Held in a pub so that probably helps, good turn out, standing room only usually. It's prizegiving too.
Thanks all. Very helpful.
Any more?

Middle of November.
February - it is also the absolute deadline for having paid your subs.
