Post by: Aussie Chick on May 31, 2008, 15:46:16
Hi Guys,

I have a sick looking Chili plant in my GH. It had Aphids on so i sprayed with a dilute solution of Fairy liquid, now its covered in Ants, I guess they are eating the Aphids. It is looking ill, what do i do?

Any help would be great!
Thanks,
AC xx

the ants don't eat the aphids, they milk them, taking them onto your plants, like a farmer puts cows in a field  :o
once the aphids go, so do the ants  :)

So how do I make the Chili plant better? Just kill the Aphids? If so do it with Fairy Liquid?

sort out the ant's nest, they will just keep replacing the aphids with more (they keep nymphs in their nest)

I've started putting vaseline on the stem, make it thick, the bl**dy ants can't climb it and I can kill the aphids  ;D
