I planted my garlic in November do i harvest it in July ?

Hi Rosebud

You generally find with garlic that the leaves start to yellow and dye back and that is your hint that they are ready.  But having said that yes it is June/July'ish time!

I think we're on the same schedule Buds. I gave them a feed of potash bout 3 weeks ago. Had a look at them this morning (HEY! It's not been raining!!) and I reckon that they might, just might, be wanting to throw up seed heads soon cos it's now quite humid, so I'll be looking out for that, and nipping them in the bud - so to speak ;D  One isn't supposed to water from the beginning of June - but tell that to Imself :( Like OB said, tho, wait for the yellowing/dying back - I'm reckoning back-end of June for mine.

Lish, thanks i diden`t know i had to nip the flower heads off  :o. I hope they don`t all decide to flower to soon.  Be in touch later ok. Love Mary  ;D

My elephant garlic has been producing masses of flower buds, which went in a stirfry the other day, but I haven't had any on 'proper' garlic yet.
