Post by: MrAverage on May 28, 2008, 20:35:52
Don't contribute much but read often. Last year was boasting of 3rd prize on lottie. This year Egg on face!! Whole plot poor so far.
My Q. is this: do you think its too late for sprouts?
My seedlings only just coming through. Usually planting out by now. Help!!!

There are some late varieties.

I noticed on a pack that I have they can be sown until July then harvested in Spring.

I checked because those I had planted, had been ravaged by birds, but the centres were ok and they have since recovered

The seeds are all in the allotment shed so I can't give you the name of the variety, feel certain that I bought them from either but they wont have been expensive- Aldi, Netto, Lidl or Wilkies, mostly,  is where I buy seeds. But I never pass a stall which sells them without taking a look.
