Title: Hot potato
Post by: GrannieAnnie on May 28, 2008, 12:33:58
Will my potatoes get too hot in black plastic pots and cook before they get in the kitchen?
I'm trying red potatoes and hilled them up to the top few leaves yesterday. The temps have some days
been 26.6C and bound to soar later. So far they look healthy. should the sides be shaded??

You bragging about your weather in ermerryka because us Brits have had cold wind and rain?

At least with that heat you should be blight free.

Sorry if it sounded like bragging which wasn't my intent. The heat and humidity here can be a big pain to work in, really exhausting, though I've heard Brits and Danes say it must be wonderful. No, it isn't. Believe me.

Regardless, we have plenty of our own blights, droughts, and more devouring insects than you can shake a stick at. (Now THAT'S bragging. ;D)
