Title: For dinner I had...
Post by: Plot69 on May 26, 2008, 13:11:58
Sausage hot pot with fresh picked broad beans and spring cabbage.

The BB's were cooked like runner beans pod and all. They were far better than eating them at the broad bean stage, and no wasted pods.

There is nothing better than picking veg, cooking and eating it within the hour. Makes all those hours and aching backs worth while.

I have plenty of strawberries. Had any of them been red then that would have been the perfect end to a perfect meal. They're all still in the green stage at the moment though... The anticipation is killing me  :D

I have also cooked broad beans like runner beans but podded some and put them in with the spinach and they were like peas.  Very tasty but a bit small but with all this rain should be OK later in the week.

We had a chickpea curry with spinach in a wholemeal wrap served with a side salad. Spinach, little gem and radish is about all we have ready at the moment!
