hi when u get a plot is the stuff on the plot like glass, wood, household rubbish aspecose and other stuff like trees that have been Cut down and left is it my job to get ride off them or is it the people who runs all the site

It should really be the site that gets rid of it,it depends how well your site is managed. :)
well when i took my plot on it was discussed i had to take an old shed down for heath and safty reasons by doing so i also have found a lot of broken glass . i burnt all the old wood rotten ext bagged the ash for my cabbage i am going up there this weekend to get rid with a van to the tip with rest of the rubbish i cant re use . depends what chairman has to say have a word and see my case was to me to sort if they will help . also ask if there is provision for a skip we have two a year but have been told to get there early as they fill up quikly thats why im going to the tip cant wait anylonger for the skip to materialize
My site does not provide any clearance (wish they did). If I had known how much rubbish I had to get rid of, I think I would have got a mini skip. I have about 12 bags of rocks I have to take off site. My recycle bin was so darn heavy this week I could hardly push it up the road for collection :o I think I will take the 12 bags to the dump instead.

I contacted the council to remove my rubbish(well previous tenants)they came for it after about 6 weeks,don't know if they have sent the bill to the previous tenant
If your landlord is the council it is down to them I would say to remove the rubbish, in my case this did happen I made a phone call and they came round within days :)
They're rented on an "as seen" basis round our way - the committee do their best to get them okay, but some people expect to turn up & have a lovely weed free, root free plot. Then the ungrateful barstewards moan about having to do some gardening... We have a big waiting list and a small budget, by the way. Mine was solid bramble roots when I took it on...
Over the years on different allotments as I moved about, it was always the new plotholder that cleared his/hers site.
Late evening bonfires took care of the brushwood and weeds, big holes took care of all the rocks, bricks and hard rubbish, (nicely drained soil in that area). Aspestos which was used around every compost heap I came across, was buried deep under a path or shed. Always had a pile of stuff that might come in handy one day stuffed in the nearest hedge.
Carpets are a relatively new thing, so never had to deal with it, although my last allotment had black brittle plastic everywhere which I cured with a flame thrower, then buried the blooby bits.
There are new laws that came in this year and they are crimes against the enviroment. So if you are dumping aspestos, plasterboard or anything your local council deems unsafe, you will have to get a certificate of disposal at a cost to yourself and a £10000 fine if you don't.
Naturally this is going to curtail societies and councils from clearing sites as they will have to pick up bigger bills.
So practice a bit of gravedigging and bury it all deep.
I had to clear mine when I got it and it was a nightmare getting it done, mainly because of all the glass, although I have to say there are worse plots than mine was. Mind you I'm still digging up what appears to be a wheelbarrow graveyard! Every bed I've dug I've had to dig up handles, wheels and all sorts! Oh and cd's!
