I think my young melon plants are just yelling to go outside! They are now several inches tall, and are starting to lie down and put out tendrils!!!
What is the best way to plant them? Do I bury them up to the first non-true leaves? Can I bury them "lying down" as they seem to want to go sideways and not upwards (I have even lay the pots over on their side for now).
I am going to finish preparing their patch with lots of compost and manure buried under them in a nice sunny part of the plot. Any other tips? (they will trail on the ground).

Last year I planted up to the first leaves, they rambled out in all directions, they recommend you stop each "branch" a couple of leaves after the fruit, if you want large melons.
