I've planted mine out & am keeping an eye out for frosts... but I'm pretty far south. How rotten is your manure?

Plant them out now if they are getting too big.

They like well manured soil and are very greedy.

The weather is cold at the moment but I think we wil be very unlucky if we get anymore frosts.if we do get a frost forecast you can alwys throw some fleece or old net curtains over.

Ive had some on my plot since April, I have surrounded them with fleece tents suppoted by canes. They are doing quite well but the two plants sown at the same time & potted into large plastic pots are massive in comparison. They plants in pots were outside in all the sunshine with fleece covering at night & have been back inside my plastic greenhouse (temperature of a cold frame really) for the few days off awful weather & cold snap we've had recently. They are so tall I have had to use canes as support. I am goibg to try to train them up the canes even though I know they naturally spread over the ground...hoping the experiment works  ;)
