You can plant them now perfectly well; I've got one lot flowering, another just planted out, and a third not planted yet. They're normally seen as a spring crop, but don't have to be.

Try it and see. Or alternatively, keep it and plant it in the autumn. I've planted it in March and it's been fine.

debster, OH is still sowing broad beans in sectioned pots, to get something of a succession.

The first sowings are in full flower, and the latest just showing their 'noses' above the parapet.

The varieties we have are Masterpiece/Imperial Green Longpod.  I can certainly let you have some seeds (having bought 500g of each from Moles ;D ;D, do get a bit carried away in Winter when the seed catalogues come out).

I can thoroughly recommend them as well.  They are green beaned varieties, and are best picked when you can just see the beans in the pods.  Lovely juicy little beans.

If you would like some, let me know, and I'll send you some.
