Title: Pots in Pimlico
Post by: Rights4Bacteria on May 14, 2008, 11:39:13
Helloo all , I am a new member :D
I am hoping to start an allotment in the school I teach in next year and am getting some practise in at home (on my balcony...)  BUT...... Pimlico is apparently the only place in the entire of infinity which does not sell your basic flower pot! poor effort by the pimlico people.
Can anyone tell me where to get them from?  ???

You might have more luck over the bridge in Vauxhall - more gardens there.

Would those black flower buckets that some supermarkets throw away do?

When you need pots for the school how about putting a request in a school letter? I am sure there will be plenty of parents only too glad to give their spare pots.
I gave away about 200 last year which were going to be used for a gardening scheme for children with learning difficulties.
Welcome to A4A.

Hi and welcome.  Have you tried the market in Strutton Ground?  Another thought is that you are not far from the Chelsea Physic Garden and they may have pots that would otherwise be thrown away.  Good luck.   :)

Hi Rights4Bacteria, and welcome, you sound just the right person to ask to help spread the word about my very simple way of reusing waste plastic containers to grow things in for a school project, as it was designed to be used on a small scale or a large one.
To see what I'm talking about please visit my web site www.recycling.moonfruit.com the reason I'm asking you to do this is I'm in the process of starting 2 school projects my self with the help of other teachers like your self.
If you or anyone else wants to know more please ask on this topic or my own topic New Recycling Ideas, thank you.
May you and yours and what you grow live long and happy. John.J.R.P.  ;D

WOW!  :D
thank you for that everyone! What an amazing site this is!
I will go and scrounge from local super markets! I need to start thinking outside the flower pot.  :P
Love your wesbite John, I will keep you posted on how my school allotment goes. I have been using my old tupperware pots to keep my poor plants going.
Thanks again!
