Thanks for these links SB :)  I do hope these babies survive. I was watching a blue tit nest last year and none of them did owing to adverse weather conditions, the parents could not get enough food for them. So sad :'(

You're welcome, GG :)  It is so sad when the chicks don't survive.  We lost baby blue tits in our nest box two years running and we didn't know why.  They were almost at fledging stage which made it all the more puzzling.  One year we took down the nest box to clean it, thinking they had fledged in the earlier hours and all the chicks were dead plus mum  :'(

Anyway, onto brighter things - THE CHICKS ON THE ABOVE CAMS HAVE HATCHED YAY!!   ;D ;D

Mum has died and dad won't roost so the cam owner has taken the nest box inside and is feeding the chicks on mealworms by himself.  What a smashing fella!

Oh how sad :'(  .......but what a dedicated cam owner, here's hoping he is successful in saving the chicks.

Well done to that chap, having a camera in the box and being able to keep an extra eye on things means that we can give more support if needed.

I have got a camera focused onto the outside of my box so that I can see the comings and goings, but hubby has promised me that next year he will put a cam inside the box for me, I am so excited about that.

Mind you, you can bet your bottom dollar if he does that, they will select another box, my BT'S seem to like to select a new apartment in my garden each year, they much have gypsy blood in them  ;D
