I have some strange red insects on the lillies they have a red back and black underbelly and legs.They have eight legs.
They appear to be humping all of the time between eating the leaves.There are loads of them.I tried to take a photo but couldn't get them focused.
Anyone know what they might be ?
They're lily beetles and you need to squish them PDQ or you'll be left with a little stump in the ground. The ones I've found have all been copulating too and I don't want their babies. Shake them carefully off the plant into a container then squish. If they drop to the gorund they fall upside down and you won't find them.
Do they look like this;
