Hi Teena,
Lots of info. coming up I'm sure.
Please remember that there is a maximum file size that Dan can accept. I still haven't worked out how to downsize some pics.

To get any image into a post that image has to be stored on the Internet in a web server with public access. Most Internet service providers give free web space with the connection but the information regarding address and login details will be buried in the introductory letter or e-mail. For just £10 a year there is facilities on the A4A server or there are free photo sites such as photobuckit.

Brilliant, Sunner - but how do you do the annotations/balloons??

well what i use is a add on for firefox its called FireShot if you want to use it you will have to use firefox as your web browsers.
Thats no worrys if you dont already use it takes your bookmarks and things from  Internet Explorer  and is much faster i think it is anyway , but saying that they might do it for Internet Explorer i dont know dont think so tho.
So all you do is DoubleClick the photo you want on photobucket do it comes up big
sceenshot crop the size so just the bit you want to see or the photo is in  view  add the things you want save it to your comp then dowm load it again to photobucket and it will have the things you have added too the photo will be on there

but if you go on there web site is a video demo shows you how to do it all its not hard just have to play about with it   here is the link

http://screenshot-program.com/fireshot/

But you can do it on photobucket not got the same things on it i like fireshot but its ok

Double  Click the photo you want in photobucket  it will come up like this

This will come up   then you can add things you want  just click save and it will be saved to your photobucket album with the add ons

here is one i done on photobucket cant do the same as fireshot  but still ok and not that hard to use

if you cant get on with any of them let me know and i will do a better post on how to do it when i have more time

i know bit hard to do a straight on the photobucket one
i think you would be better off useing windows paint

this is how you get it up

click on start  go to all programs

go to Accessories  the drop down window that opens should have paint in it clcik on that

when you have paint open  go to files at the top left   then go to open
click on open and choose the photo you want to use from your comp

when you have done what you wanted to do go back on to files click on save as and this will save the photo back too your comp with the changes then you can but it on photobucket to post it on a web site

on windows paint you can grag a straight line from point to point or bennd it to any shape or use there shapes that are on there

if you read this web site will tell you how to do it  you want to read...  The Line Tool.....The Pencil Tool .......The Shapes Tool ...... Border Thickness of Shapes .......Hollow Shapes
here is the link to read

http://fay.iniminimo.com/paint.html

like the other one just have to play round with it to you get the hang of it this is the kinda thing you can do
