Title: Hanging baskets
Post by: honeybee on May 11, 2008, 08:27:42
I usually always wait until the end of May before I bob out my baskets, its been so nice this week that i have had them out all day and night and they are doing really well and seem to have benefitted, starting to flower already too.

I was wondering has anyone else got their baskets out yet or are you all hanging on a bit longer?

all of mine are out too!  Including hanging tomato baskets.  Weather has been so good here.
My baskets have started to flower.  According to our local weather here, I have another hot week coming up.

I put mine out about a week ago and they seem to be doing ok, just starting to bud now with a few flowers coming out on the lobelia.  :)

mine are out, they've been hardening off for a week or so and then the warm weather strted. they are supposed to be hardy anyway - those fancy new trailing pansies.

Mine have been out including hanging Toms for about a week too and starting to flower ;D. I do have lots of places to bring them in overnight if it threatens a frost. Just lots of messing about :(

I did mine last night. While I was doing mine I remember this time to put the water gel crystal. Last year I didn't and I was forever watering them, it gets a bit tedious after a while. I'd prepared two half moon baskets. The first one was perfect I remember to include the crystals. Then did the second one it was almost completed before I'd realised I didn't incorporate the crystals into the compost, so I just sprinkled them on the top. And this morning when I looked at them it looks really weird a jelly like susbstance was on the surface.
