But my Girl prefers pearls.
8 May1948 was hot, just like today. When she took hers off, She was still wearing a white 'necklace'!

An even The Queen was impressed!!
Happy 60Th
Tim and Mrs Tim,hope you have a great day ;D ;D ;D
:D :D
Congratulations Tim and your lady. Beautiful bride and handsome groom 60 years ago.
Hope you have many more happy years together.
:) :) :) :) :)
Wonderful Tim, such a handsome couple. Many, many congratulations on your 60 years together. I hope you are having a wonderful day.
Charlie made me numerous photo frames and one is very large. I have a photo of my parents wedding 25thDec 1916 (dad in his army uniform) My wedding in Sept 1952, my son's in 1982 and my eldest daughters in 1983, also the only photo I have of Mum and Dad with children (9) taken just after the war. All in that frame. I just love the old photos.
Congratulations Tim and Mrs Tim! I hope your celebrations are suitably special!
I love the old photos Lorna. So important to snatch that moment in time. :)
Congratulations Tim! It's always moving to see people who've been happily married for so long.
Congratulations Tim :)
WOW
Congratulations to you both! 60 years that is longer than even I have been alive!!!
You certainly don't look your age Tim - or are these old photos?!!
I hope you enjoy many more years - I for one am really impressed!
Old Bird!
;D
Congratulations Tim :)
congratulations both of you ;D
Wow, many congratulations to you both. I hope you have had a lovely day celebrating, and many more of them. :)
T.
Such nice people!
I have to share this - by our No1 live-in Painter Daughter - who took driving lessons for 2 years, every Wednesday, without our knowing - & a month or more to set this up while trying to paint................http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v164/photo04/PERSONAL2/annie3.jpg
We don't do parties but, at the bottom, which doesn't print, it says that there may be one or two guests. So - 50 + a small marquee on our lovely lawn!!
Oh, & neighbour over the fence this pm mentioned a local chap who has just had a thing from the Queen on his/their 80th!!.
= Tim
Congratulations Tim and Mrs Tim - you obviously have the right recipe for a long and happy marriage. :) :) :)
Congratulations Sir
And may there be many more to come
mrf94
wow congrats, and i agree dimonds are a girls best friend prefereably german cut, AAA rated in platimum settings.
(platimum will be very much sought after once the last mine runs out which is in approx 10 years ;) )
Congratulations to you both Tim and your very good wife :)
So are you going to keep her then Tim? ;D
I adore the photos, and the wording on your invite made me smile widely, I guess you have a very lovely and loving family, well done to you all x x x
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Tim. Wow, that is certainly something to celebrate :).
One thing made me laugh out loud I'm afraid. The venue is Hill House, in my town that is the name of a very nice old peoples home! Quite out of place for a spring chicken like you :)
Happy 60th Anniversary to you both. That invite brought a tear to my eye, old softie that I am. I hope you enjoy the celebrations with your nearest and dearest. :)
G x
Congrats to you both Tim. My oldies in Devon celebrated their 60th in March with a note from Her Maj. Love the invitation. Have a wonderful day, both of you.
;D ;D ;D
Many Congratulations to you Tim, and Mrs Tim. What a lovely invitation, how could you resist?!
I hope you have a lovely time and that the next 60 are just as good!
;)
Congratulations Tim and Mrs Tim.....and i have to agree with the other's who have said you don't look old enough.
Congratulations Tim. :D
Many congratulations on your Diamond Day, Tim and Mrs. Tim! xxx
Need a bit of thought power here.
Accuweather predicts Sunny Spells.
Metcheck predicts 23mm Rain!!
I know that forecasts that far ahead are very iffy, but I think we need a bit of sundancing??
PS Apart from being a home for geriatrics, Hill House is, at least, our own home!
Congratulations to you Tim and the better half, i hope the two of you and the (ramshackle ;D) family have a wonderfull day.
PS Don't worry to much about the weather,by the sound of it you will have enough to worry about keeping an eye on the staff. ;D
Come on folk lets start the sundancing :)
Congratulations Tim to you and your good lady. I hope you enjoy the party.
Sorry I missed this yesterday, Tim. Congratulations!! What an achievement! Hope you had a lovely day. Can't wait to hear about the party.
In passing, isn't this a bit illogical?

sorry to miss this yesterday, Tim, busy with an assignment! many happy returns, rgds, Tony
You must have been dancing, Lorna? Metcheck now shows no rain -- whereas Accuweather shows a shower!!
And now, Son-in-Law - the strong man needed for erecting the mini Marqee - just broke his arm in several places. Apart from anything else, that'll impede Daughter's cake making!!
Tim sorry to hear about your Son-in-Law, time to call in the troops? :)
Congratulations Tim ;D
A charming couple that have found the answer, a rare commodity in this day and age

Whoever wrote that must be a barrel of laughs!
Quote: "Married persons who regard the day of their marriage as important may mark the occasion in some special way."
many huuuuge congratulations!!! you mustve been very young when you got married :) hope you enjoy the party whatever the weather, but im sure itll be lovely and hot! xx
It's all due to Her!! And Loulou - flattery will get you......everywhere!!
How times change, though? Our presents:
1. Some clothing coupons.
2. A pair of 'previously owned' RN sheets. Made of canvas??
3. A previously owned plastic washing-up bowl.
You lucky people!!
And I borrowed £1 from Her for lunch at Roses in Edinburgh.
I thought that I had also mentioned this, but can't find it:
Our Balcony room at the Shillingford Bridge Hotel cost all of 24/-. Plus 3/- for ensuite!!
Tim, how could i have missed such an occasion. I do hope you had a wonderfull day many congratulations to you both. :)
All the very best for your future.
PS, i have been so busy i havent called in A4A for a few days.
Like 'Buds above, I completely missed this too until just now :-[ :'(
TIM & PAT!.....
Many, Many Congratulations and Fond Friendly Hugs to you both and despite the grey skies here down-town in Brum today, may the sun shine on you both (or, more realistically, let's hope that the 'markee' doesn't have any leaks in it??)
xxxxxxxx and so sorry again that my congrats are late - but just as sincerely meant as all the others above..
Lishka
I've missed this too - congratulations Tim! (And Mrs Tim too of course). It's lovely to hear such news, especially for us young saplings bucking the trend by staying married in this day and age (4 years this year for me). I have to say I think the world has gone mad encouraging families to be separated or worse these days. Its great to see people who still love and respect each other coming though to triumph and show us how it can be done!
Watch this space!!
Missed this too,(was away) but wish you both the very best and many congratulations. ;D
Tim, I only spotted your comment about the weather forecast and didn't see the start of the thread.
Your expertise shines through - you picked an exquisite bloom and with tender loving care you have both created this 'hybrid' worthy of any heritage collection. My best to you and Mrs Tim, and here's to the next sixty!
;D
Also missed this thread... many apologies. I really hope that you and Mrs Tim had a wonderful time...!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU BOTH!!
Love brought you together as husband and wife, And gave each of you a best friend for life - Happy Anniversary!!!!!

Well, I warned you!
Thank you for all those messages.
The day was cold but fine. We got the tent up in 50 min. Just nice for 60 people. Chap who lent it on the left.
[[attachment=1][attachment=2][attachment=3]
And the 'Cake' followed a tradition - our first was made by my RAF Catering Staff with dried fruit from our ration coupons.
[attachment=4]
Sunday, it was [attachment=5]
5 hours work by No2 Daughter.
Nice to see the chap on left had a bit of help, and by the sound of it a good time was had by all.
And just loved the 2008 cake, and i just know it tasted as good as it looked.
Don't know how I missed this Tim - my birthday is May 8th and also my wedding date as well and my partner's birthday is May 18th - must have been too busy celebrating ourselves
What a beautiful lifelong couple you make - what memories :)
Take care, Joy
And Happy Retrospectives to you!!
Someone mentioned food? All our girls got 5 Stars! And you can guess which end of the tent it was!!
[attachment=2]
But the chaps were a bit careless with the Pimms!!
[attachment=1]
Love the photos Tim, great cakes, don't like Pimms anyway..... ;D
Well, we've seen the befores- now the afters!

Hi Tim, belated anniversary wishes to you and and Mrs. What a fine couple.
After viewing those pics, I am dabbing at my eyes, such lovely pics and your wife is indeed a very beautiful lady with such great style too.
So glad that you had such a lovely day, a day to remember by all y the looks of it x
I didn't mean to hog the front page but, given that you are a sentimental lot, I thought that it would add a bit of colour.
This'll teach me to not read the forum for a while!
CONGRATULATIONS!

Diamond geezers!!!! x
"Little Man" -- worth all the effort, Jane??
Yes thanks, Tim! Not so little any more - takes some effort to carry about! He's been watching me sow (more ::) ) beans and transplant chillies this afternoon, so plenty of horticultural lessons already ;D ;D ;D
