Post by: bridgehouse on May 07, 2008, 17:31:56

Hello. Can anyone tell me what to do next with my potatoes, all my Earlie's and second Earlie's are all through. I have earthed them up and put some grass cuttings around them.  do I need to do anything else to them or can I just let them grow,  as you may have guessed i am new to this veg growing .
thanks for any help.

Sounds like you do know what you are doing... ;D Just keep topping up with grass clippings as you get them...that's all...
Have you used any fertilizer at all? Potatoes are "hungry" plants and now is the time they start using nutrients from the soil as they are putting lots and lots of growth on..
If you feel that they may need some extra,,just chuck some chiken manure pellets around and should do fine...

Thank you so much goodlife, I will do as you advise. I know I must not let the pots go green, I was in a bit of a panic .
