Title: Runners too long?
Post by: glosterwomble on May 07, 2008, 10:53:50
I put my runners, borlotti and french climbing beans in to loo rolls to grow in a heated proagator. They grew very quickly and I didn't get them out of it quick enough so they are now about 10" tall in only a week, are they still viable do you think or should I bin them and start again?  ???

Done that before, I would plant them but tie them up to support them, also sow a seed at the side of each one as a back up that way you have covered all bases.

I know it seems a lot but it is about that amount! I put a couple others in an unheated propagator and they have only just germinated.

They're OK, but it's too early to plant them out so they might do better somewhere a bit cooler, if only to slow them down.
