Title: Just had a horrible thought!
Post by: Producer on May 06, 2008, 21:51:55
was using Roundup to kill some weeds, nettles and brambles around the plot.  Is it strong enough to kill the two apple trees!  I didnt spray on them, but I suppose it was a little windy and on the odd occasion I sprayed quite close to weeds under thr trees.  Will I go back to find Ive massacrerd the trees!?

You'd need something a lot stronger to kill an apple tree. Should you ever want to do so, you'll have to strip a ring of bark off and cover it with Deep Root to have a chance. Worry ye not!

My ex husband ( Please note the EX bit there is only so much you can put up with!) used glyphosate on some weeds under a lilac tree (after i told him not to as Glyphosate is translocated it doesn't need to get on leaves to work just on any above soil part of the plant) however he didn't believe me and almost killed the lilac (a 10 foot plus tree).

I see my neighbour managed to kill a Cotinus last year because of his lawn obsession (a male thing!) I am surprised he hasn't tried to blame me. People forget that lawn weedkiller won't just kill the daisy's!
