Hi does anyone know where can I buy chilli plants from?
I'd like some of the more unusual one, Habaneros or nagas.
Cheers

Hi Tim.
thanks for that.
I don't want to seem particular but they do sell Plants and not just seeds?
Where they do plants they say so?
Certainly Habeneros in the catalogue. But you may be a bit late for this year - chillies are a long term plant.
Had a jalapeno from B&Q last year ,organic too.
If you live near me I will give you some PR4 area
Simpsons sell quite a few varieties as plants

The South Devon Chilli Farm might be worth a call..
http://www.southdevonchillifarm.co.uk/index.php?page=contact-us (http://www.southdevonchillifarm.co.uk/index.php?page=contact-us)
Finally, I would have thought there's still time to grow from seed especially if you can bring the plant indoors in the autumn.
Plantconnection's a useful link.
Chillifarm? Thought they only did processed things?
I would say much too late for normal growing but, as suggested, grow on in warmth into the winter.

...........Chillifarm? Thought they only did processed things?
Hi Tim. They grow their own plants for seed, so I reckon around about now they'll know whether they have a surplus of germinated seedlings and might be willing to part with some. Just an idea :)
I wonder if there are any quick fruiting varieties other than Early Jalapeno.
I think a lot depends on the varieties and where you live - last year many of my chillies were outside , unfleeced until November, but I'm in London which is generally good for an extra 2-3 degC over the surrounding country.
Curse this gammy leg!!!(Actually I`m walking a lot beter now)-but another year -Smiling Cat Herbs has a good selection ;D

Called in at the South Devon Chilli Farm last week, they do sell plants ,but you have to wait until June. Well they had one plant but not anymore( Royal Black) hope it's not too hot.
Forgot Delfland - how could I?
And thanks, Barnie.
Cherry Bomb is wonderful Cam-hotish but not too hot, stuff them with Monteray Jack cheese or some similar melting chese and deep fry.
Due to unforseen circumstances I`m not growing them this year but I am thinking of a return present next year for the curry leaves?-Well maybe a few seeds

Cherry Bomb are also great with a stuffing of mashed-up tuna, capers and anchovy.
Now that does sound good.
Recipe perhaps?
I'm going to word this very carefully as I'd hate to be accused of free load avertising or spamming but....................
Google the city you live in and the name of this forum and the plant you are looking for and the result awaits you!
Really just look at my username!
I see - we're into Chilli Relenos etc?
Jolly nice, but jolly little stuffing!
Tim, you sound like a man that's spent time in sunny Spain.
One of my fave dishes they are really easy to make if you've the patience however they can be bought at a price from your greedy..... oops, I mean freindly supermarket. Here's a recipe or 2:
For veggies:
Pimentos Rellenos Ingredients
60 grams Goat Cheese 1/2 tablespoon Parsley chopped
1 tablespoon Milk 1/2 Red chilli chopped
1/2 clove Garlic Salt and pepper to taste
10 leaves Basil shredded 36 Pepperdew peppers
Instructions for Pimentos Rellenos
Pound basil and garlic to a paste in a mortar and pestle.
Add cheeses and milk. Combine until smooth.
Mix in parsley, chilli and seasoning.
Rinse the pepperdew peppers and use a piping bag to fill with the cheese mixture.
or for meat eaters:
Chicken Chiles Rellenos (Zarela Martinez) Ingredients
6 lg Poblano or New Mexico 1/4 ts Ground cloves
1/2 c Unsalted butter; (one stick) 2 c Shredded cooked chicken
1 md Onion; chopped Salt to taste
2 Garlic cloves; minced SALSA DE TOMATE ASADO
1/2 c Pimento-stuffed olives; 1 1/2 c Heavy cream
1/2 c Pitted prunes; coarsely 8 lg Garlic cloves; unpeeled
1/2 c Dried apricots; coarsely 1 md Onion; unpeeled, halved
1 1/2 ts Ground cumin 3 lg Ripe; red tomatoes, about
1/2 ts Cinnamon Salt
Instructions for Chicken Chiles Rellenos (Zarela Martinez)
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat until very hot and fragrant. Add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring, for three minutes. Add the olives and fried fruit and cook, stirring another three minutes. Add the spices and chicken and cook, stirring to combine, for tow minutes more. Season with salt. Cut a small slit in the stem end of each chile. Remove seeds if desired, but do not tear chile. Carefully stuff chiles with the mixture through the slit in each. Bake on a greased baking sheet or shallow pan at 500 degrees for seven minutes. Spoon the tomato sauce onto individual plates or a large serving platter and arrange the chiles on top. SALSA DE TOMATE ASADO for Zarela Martinezs Chiles Rellenos Cook down the cream in a small, heavy saucepan over med. heat until reduced by about a third. Set aside. Heat a heavy cast-iron griddle or skillet over high heat until a drop of water sizzles on contact. Roast the unpeeled garlic cloves and onion, turning several times, until the garlic is dark on all sides and somewhat softened and the onion is partly blackened and fragrant. Set aside. Roast the tomatoes in the same way, turning several times, until blistered on all sides. Let cool until cook enough to handle. Peel the garlic and place in blender. Peel onion, and add to garlic. Peel tomatoes directly over the blender to catch juice. and add to garlic and onion. Puree on medium speed until smooth. Add the cream and process until blended. Season with salt. Makes about 4 cups. Can be refrigerated for 2 or 3 days. Do not freeze.
Best of luck
Don`t you just hate folk advertising?? ;D But we are out there, litle folk who sometimes only sell from our doorstep.
We often do it because we are passionate about the varieties we grow and seek only to make a few shillings to cover our costs
Have a look here. They will also post plants out for you.

Er, there isn't one really! I just mash up some tuna, add some chopped capers and mashed up anchovy, maybe some herbs, sometimes combine with a little cream cheese or creme fraiche - just keep tasting until you're happy. Add or subtract whatever you fancy!
You can bake these with a little olive oil, or just eat them raw, in which case the chilli is a lot hotter!
