Title: Garlic Question - Stem gone kinky
Post by: cambourne7 on May 06, 2008, 17:11:04
Hi

Been up to the lotty and noticed that some of my garlic stems have bent over and feeling down the stem on one of them the bulb is no bigger than a large spring onion I guess its still early for them but i just wanted to check this kink was normal.

They had chicken poo last week and did not notice the kink then.

May be the chucky poo poo was too much for them

The bulb shouldn't be more than spring onion size at this stage. They're pretty tough and they've got loads of time to recover. Mine were smothered in rust last year, to the point that the foliage died on a lot of them. I still got bulbs.

Hi Guys,

My garlic is no longer kinky i think its possible something might have slept on the garlic and that what bent the leaves over i think.

YIPPIE

Comfry tea sounds like a great idea not sure if its ok for garlic i have only started to make mine this week for my tomatoes.
