I made Facebook friends with a couple of people on my site who are now proper friends! Anyone else here on Facebook? (I'm in my thirties by the way) :D
yes and we have our own facebook group
Allotments4All Appreciation Society
It was ment as a way of passing on news in a4a crashed ;)
There are 8 fellow a4a people already on there.
Joined. Now just have to work out who everybody is!
im on facebook will go and look for a4a group
It's quite interesting to see what peeps get up to when they're not being allotmenteers...
Yes I'm on facebook....I only use it to check up on my teenagers though....I'm pretty much faceless on facebook! i'll look for the a4a group.
I have the same photo (!) so you can recognise me :) For those viewing in black and white, I'm Carina.
Oh I THINK I just joined ;D. I only joined because my boys invited me ::). I'm totally 100% clueless what to do on there. :o
Now strange people (me) will ask you to be their friends. Then you can spend hours of fun laughing at their really dreadful photos and wondering what kind of weirdo would publish pictures of their pile of horse manure. ::)
I am too, joined the group :D
Hi All,
And me - I've just joined the group too (Mark)

I gather from the earlier post here that the group is called Allotments4All Appreciation Society. I'm on Facebook but not a group member: I use it mainly to exchange news and photos with friends and family.

Here's the link ........ i think!

Me too, but I've now joined the group too.
I've just joined - it never occurred to me to search for an A4A group ::)
I joined Facebook after grandson asked me to. I am now in touch with numerous family members down South, some I haven't seen for years (big family) I can also keep an eye on Georgie's wine intake ;D
trying to load a pic, taking ages ::) ;D

ROFL!
Can someone explain to me what happens when you join a Facebook Group? I can't find anything on FB that explains. ::)
G x
Just done it!! ;D
everyone in the group can access everyone in the group's info / data, as far as I can make out
It's the apps you've got to watch-leaves you open to a lot of spamming apparently. This isn't information I actually know-just what I've been told by those more knowledgable in these matters!

Eek! As I suspected. :( And is there a sort of chat facility? Otherwise what is the point?
G x
ooh, you don't half like a gossip!! ;)
Just joined! Not sure what happens now... Cath Lewis x
just gone there to find out if I'm there and I am :-* I use facebook to keep a eye on my family and friends but am not very good at finding my way around. a lot do silly games but I am not in to them which is just as well cuz I'm hopeless at um
marg
Yeah, I'm into the games too. Bejewelled Blitz is the one, though I'm now addicted to Jungle Jewels which is much faster. ::) ::) ::) ::)
Real timewasters, these games.
yes i play mafia wars amongst others :)
I'm more than a bit of a scrabble addict on there, lol.
Dont know if it was moment of madness or what but to 'celebrate' the new year i decided to join Facebook. Never been interested before but decided to see what all the fuss was about. I have to say i like what i have found. i have today discovered the A4All group on there.
Cant work out who is who though - i don't recognise any names!
I would agree though that it would be a good alternative to the main site when it happens to be down for maintenance or whatever. Cant see it actually replacing A4all itself though, although from what i hear other forums have decamped to facebook so who knows?
is it the allotments group?
I've only found 3 sites and none are allotments4all group ???
Log on to facebook and in the search box type allotments4all - that should find it for you.
found it, Anne, thank you, i was just searching for allotments ;D

BEJEWELLED BLITZ how to lose an afternoon without blinking :-\
try this http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/group.php?gid=5294726940
Although I resisted it for a long time, I do like Facebook, especially now I'm in a different town to all the friends I've made over the last 15 years. Can't see this forum working on a facebook basis though-the boards are too complex for the FB discussion boards and A4A just so great. ;D
Things I hate about FB: people who fish on their staus updates- "Sally McNally is sooooooo annoyed" then people comment "Oh why" etc...yawn.
People who add you purely for the numbers-an old school friend requested me but put no personal message. I thought, well, what's the point? If you can't even be bothered to say hi then sod off! ;D
People who put mysterious comments aimed at someone they are rowing with "Well, what goes around comes around and some people better remember who their friends are" etc...
It reminds you why you didn't keep in touch with all your school mates in the first place!

I wouldn't like to keep in touch with any of them ;D
means I can keep in touch with the canadian lot, though
Oh I absolutely love Bejewelled Blitz, I am addicted ;D
I also love scrabble and play almost every day :)

Post some pics!
It seems us chaps are heavily outnumbered by the ladies if the facebook group is anything to go by!
Is posting pictures easy?
I am on FB and use it regualrly with "proper" friends, but not "signed up" to A4A on there yet...
what are the benefits? we can post here... why use A4A on FB? I am not being awkward, I am intregued.

With you on this one Mat
Twoflower re posting pics on Facebook - yeah dead simple
Not a lot really mat - although you can always "friend" some A4A'ers if that takes your fancy!
Twoflower - goto the group - click the photo tab - click on add group photos - you then have the option to add photos from any facebook albums or upload direct to the group (probably the later?) - Click on the upload photos tab - click the browse button - pick a photo from your PC - press upload. Dont worry about size too much as Facebook will resize them for you. I just uploaded a pic of my plot!
What have I done! ::)
I've long resisted joining Facebook but after some gentle persuasion I've finally become a member!
It was inevitable I suppose...said shaking my head as I go to the kitchen to make a cup of tea!
I guess that it'll be Twitter next! :)
Are you going to get a farm? If so, happy to be your neighbour. ;D
G x
Georgie if it keeps raining like it has it may well come to that, and thanks! :)

Well, it never rains on FarmVille and it's always daylight. Is it any wonder some of us here are addicted? ;) ;D

I had to add Senior after my name on Facebook when young Lorna next door became a member. It was completely confusing family and friends lol

Well, I reckon you should have made young Lorna change
her name to 'little Lorna'. ;) ;D
