@*&%$$£"$££%@@><<::}{{}!"||¬ d**n wasp got stung today by the d**n thing!!! finger looks like a very large swollen cucumber but not green!! followed it back to my muck mountain!! ad yep they have started to nest any advise would be great to get rid of the pests
After planting my squash, marrows, gherkins ,cucumber etc, done some weeding more planting been a little busy bee myself, also got a sunburn back and it hurts :'(
sorry to hear about the finger. still might stop you picking your nose, lol. i had a wasp nest last year in my shed so i got the flame gun out and burnt the b.gger. that sure got rid of it
Unless you're a fast runner, try eliminating the nest when it is cold out since they move slower in the cold. Wouldn't hurt to cover yourself up. I'll never forget when I hit a hornet's nest with the mower. They chased me and hit my legs 3 times before I got into the house.
If they are council allotments, maybe the council will do it for you?
In fairness to wasps - I am sorry you got stung - but they are considered a beneficial insect - if they are in the right place. The eat millions of aphids and in fact are the gardeners friend - except when you get stung - I remember, years ago, when I had one stuck in my hair, God the racket I made I was screeching like a banshee! and yes the do hurt. So big sympathy!
Old Bird
;D
Bad luck getting stung. I have nests on my plot every year, sometimes in the shed, and they've never stung me yet. The only thing that ever stings is the odd bee, and that's only because I keep pulling their homes apart.
my mate steve, the naked gardener, got stung in sensative place last year, right on the end!! his missus was impressed by the swelling!!
Thats sounds exciting maybe we should all get some wasps !!!!!!!! ;)
;D ;D ;D Would have certainly given him and his wife a buzz!! (yep, I know ... I will go and stand in a corner!!**!!)
