Title: runner beans

my runner beans are about six or more ins height i was thinking of puttimg them in this weekend.am i going right ??? ??? ??? is it to soon

I don't usually put mine out until the end of May, so yes, I would say this is a bit early, particularly as the weather is so unsettled.

lillylottie I am no expert, my runners are taller than yours. I have put them outside the greenhouse (unheated) during the day but won't plant them out for at least another couple of weeks. Don't want to be caught by late frosts.

Pinch out the tops so they arent so tall and this encourages the plant to produce side shoots so you get more of a crop :)

My first row of runners went in yesterday. We also put in some climbing beans which is probably pushing my luck. Dwarf beans went in but are under a cloche.
