.....this takes the cake!!
Wanted a change with Scrambled Eggs - decided not to be adventurous, but just try the Luxury method.
As usual, put everything into the pan - Eggs (NOT beaten, just stirred), Milk, Butter, S&P - heat gently until just thickening & then put in bottom oven (AGA) for 5-10 mins.
By the time I had considered doing that, the Eggs were perfectly set in the pan!!
Next bright idea??
;D
sucker for trying :-*
actually I wonder what would have happened if you'd just stirred it all briskly and put them in the Aga without cooking on the top of the stove first - doubt you'll be trying again though
luxury scrambled eggs to me is added garlic, paprika, chives and maybe a bit of cream
did you eat them
Eat? Indeed - they were perfect, without another 5-10 min!!
AGA? That'd be an omelette?
Garlic etc? More what I'd thought of in the first place.
luxury? with smoked salmon. Wasn't it like rubber after 10mins in the oven?
It never got near the oven!! In other words, it was done exactly as I normally do it - plain & simple.
Smoked Salmon? Yes.
My ex-husband liked to poach/bake eggs in the microwave!
I had to pretend i liked them :P
I don't anymore.....need to pretend to like them I mean!
Oy Kea, I do perfect poached eggs in the microwave! In fact, we call it the egg poacher!
teehee Tim....so whose bright idea was that, then?
Scrambled egg & smoked salmon...luxury? hmm, sort of, but a couple of weeks ago had breakfast in the VIP lounge of the airline I was travelling on...scrambled eggs with smoked salmon topped with a sprinkle of caviar? Now that's luxury. And the accompanying Bloody Mary was good, too 8)
Scrambled egg with fresh minced chilli and finely chopped onion is a staple here to kick-start the day :)
fresh minced chilli in the Bloody Mary makes that a Scary Mary ;D
Nice thought, Lishka, but pie in the sky for us mortals!
Did have some wonderful orange caviar that a Russian friend brought over - 'spose that was Salmon? Some Salmon!

yes the red is from the salmon roe - beluga = £400 for 100g - worth putting on the birthday wishlist - I'll buy you the toast to go with it ;D
Beluga caviar is black, it's the roe of sturgeon not salmon. Salmon roe is indeed red.
yes I know, was just giving the price comparison
It doesnt matter what price it is........awful stuff :(
Tip yours into a doggie bag & pass it this way!
I'm going to put in a plug here for my husband who's offered to make his wonderful omelettes for lunch and they are so good they don't need a topping.
;D
The other good thing is that someone else cooks.......most women will be guessing what the down side is so i don't need to say.
