I have spent most of today trying to buy main crop seed potatoes but everywhere local is sold out, whats the best place to buy them on line?
Thompson & Morgan are still advertising.
I always buy mine from Thomson and Morgan and never had a bad batch yet. Plenty of variety and manageable amounts for the small plot. Mind you I only plant earlies as I live in the East of Scotland in tattie growing country.
I used T&M this year and it was not a good experience. Won't ever use them again. Last year I got them on eBay. There's still a good selection there today.
I've just come back from my local 99p shop where there are plenty of seed potatoes (Charlotte, Wilja, etc) as well as onions and shallots. Pound shops should be worth a look if you haven't tried them already.
Thanks for the advise, I had a look at the Thompson & Morgan website and will be putting an order in tomorrow. :)
I've seen a few peopleon my local freecycle offering surplus chitted spuds- you could try there?
Wyevale's are selling their's half price and seemed to have a good selection left.
Sinbad
Our local Wilkos still have them ;)
yep our wilkos still have them too.
Might be worth asking on freecycle - my neighbour must have the best part of 50 kilos of seed spuds in the shed still (no, I'm not joking).
I just ordered...
Maris Piper x20
King Edward x20
Golden Wonder x20
From Thompson & Morgan. :)
Can I ask how much?
I think it was around £16.49 inc P&P, the potatoes cost £3.69 for 20.
