My daughter has just rung me to tell me that my niece and nephews 15 year old friend hung himself last night. the lad played rugby with my nephew and there were at times rumours that he was romantically linked with my niece. the rest of the children in his year are said to be in shock.
my daughter said my niece is in pieces and my nephew is as yet not talking.
my daughter is going to collect them from school, as they are all very close.
so sad and such a waste, what had got so bad for this lad, he was due to sit his exams this summer
my thoughts are with his family and friends
does anyone know of any good organisations i could recommend to my sister if the children want to talk to someone else?
I think you may find the school arranges a counselling service for the pupils.
Debster, it is indeed a very sad event.
When I worked with SS we often took advice etc from CRUSE (there is a section for young people's bereavement)

Hope this helps :)
Think SavageBlue's link is well worth a look Debster. It really saddens me when you hear about such young people ending their lives... what anguish they must have been experiencing to have been driven to taking their life. I really hope your niece and nephew get some sort of help/counselling to get them through this tragedy. Please let us know how they get on, I hate to think of them feeling so devastated.
I'm very sorry to hear that, it is such a shock.... we lost a bright young girl just over a year ago the same way, I was the last to teach her (RE) before the act.
:(
Overhere it is a big issue, all over holland it seems to be that there are more suicides under very young kids, last year in my town a boy of thirteen years old jumped of the thirteenth floor, just before his act he visit his grandmother on the sixth floor. The newspapers are full of it.
Such a sad story. We seem to be reading more and more of these tragedies.
I hope your niece and nephew get some help if they need it. Such devastation for the family
