Title: Growing cape gooseberries and alpine strawberries from seed.

They have both germinated - when and how should I start planting them out.

Is that Physalis? Ive got some just germinated too..............over did the seed sowing :-\

i grew cape gooseberries last year from small plants. Once I planted them outside in May they needed no protection, they grow very big but if it is not a very hot summer you will need to force the fruit on a bit otherwise it will not be ripe before the end of the warm season. Leave fruit to ripen on the plant, it won't ripen once you pick it.
Leave picked fruit in its husk, it lasts for weeks.

thank you, antipodes, mine have germinated, about 1" tall now  :)
