Option 4: Dunno

With an earlier thread on veg shows - how about one online - well, we take pictures of our produce on a certain day (just have to trust you all) posted up on, say the msn group, then we could vote in polls (try not to vote for your own!)....
Hi Multiveg. Looks like there are six participants, at least that will give me a chance to be in the top six.
Taking pictures on a certain day will be very difficult I think, a certain week may be better.
Anyway, if there is no more response maybe it's a no go.
Thanks for trying Multiveg. Sorry I took so long responding, I don't read the shed that often.
Ok, a week sounds good - how about 23rd-29th August. Perhaps pictures could be posted by 6th September...?
I'll participate. Let's see who all are also. Please post here that you have read the dates and will participate.
A show of two is kind of silly don't you think Multiveg?
I will try! But can you re post the dates closer, cos I have a brain live a soil sieve and will forget!! Good idea BTW!
Go on then include me.... think I'll be up for the booby prize. :-[ Well maybe me onions aint so bad. ;D
I'll have a go at it. Hopefully by this point I'll have mastered the art of uploading pics to this site.
If I have anything I'll take part but I'm so far behind because of a late start in the season I doubt I'll have much to submit. :-\
Have great hopes for my parsnips this year, so I will give it a go. ;D busy_lizzie
You don't have to ask if I will be in it, after all, am I not the champion sunflower grower....KEN! ;D ;) ;D ;)
I can enter the tiniest carrots, or the blightiest toms, but I do have high hopes for my squashes as they are romping away! ;D
We're on holiday that week -although it's only 'God's Waitingroom',so there's a chance I could take some pics in the week, or the weekend before?
Jeremy
Well, think that might be acceptable Jeremy ;D
What about a judge? I think we should have somebody who really knows his 'beans'. Anybody out there who fits the bill and is willing to be judge?
Pictures have to be taken between August 23 and 29 and have to be in, that is posted, by sept. 6 and judging can start.
I'll mail Dan and see if he can organize a show room for the A4A veggie show and we'll have a separate thread for each catagory. So when you post, please look if there already is a thread for your catagory, if not, start one and title it only with the name of the veg you are showing. No combination pictures please.
I'm quite happy to vote - being a non-lottie/veggie grower I can be impartial! I don't think my perpetual spring onions or little pot of lettuce can count!!!
Hey Plocket, you may just have solved the judge problem! If we start a poll we can all vote! What do you all think about that?
Thanks for the credit Ina but it was Multiveg who suggested the poll for voting! Can't wait to see all the lovely entries. I might even try for a picture of my luscious lettuces! They taste simply gorgeous. In the evenings when my husband and I are enjoying the peace of the garden, we pick little bits and munch!!!
Oops, right you are Plocket, sorry Multiveg. I did not read your first posting here carefully enough.
Wish the picture taking could start now, some of my beans are at their top now as are some tomatoes.
I will play by the rules, honest, and wait til August 23th.
I might be interested. What sort of 'classes' of veg will there be? Cant do 'largest' or 'straightest' though.
Ofcourse you are interested Richard! What kind of sport are you?
You just post beans under beans and beetroots under beetroots etc. etc. and let the voters decide.
It seems a bit complicated to make seperate classes for lengths, shapes, colors etc. for every category.
It's all for fun after all.
