Title: Feeding Tomato's
Post by: gonz on April 21, 2008, 13:52:06
Hello everyone

Can someone tell me when to start feeding tomato plants.  It says on the bottle after the ' first truss has set'.  What does that mean?

Thanks

truss is first flower stalk, we don't start feeding properly until they have small fruits  :)

Thank you.  Some of the jargon on bottles/packets can be a bit confusing to a newbie like me    :D

This is not one of my best bits of photography but it might be of sufficient details to show you what is meant by the term; truss set

Note the embryo fruit has just appeared.

oh oh! does that mean that if someone (me) had inadvertantly fed them before this time then they may die or something

hiya, midlands miss, welcome to the site, I don't think it's a problem, just gives a bit of leafy growth, we grow our toms hard  ;D
