Title: Chillies
Post by: Georgie on April 19, 2008, 20:12:10
First the good news.  The Chilli Sicily and the yellow Chilli (variety unknown) are thriving.  Here are photos of both of them.

But the Chilli Trifetti - grown in exactly the same conditions - has all these off-white patches on the leaves.  There is no sign of pests so is it sun scorch?  If so I can't think how this has happened because I have not spilt any water on them.   ???  G x

There's a chilli variety called Fish that has variegated leaves like that....have just checked and, yes, Trifetti does have variegated leaves.

No problem - just let me have a few seeds when they mature ;D

Barnowl I have a few spares if you want to risk a late sowing.  The seeds were given to me by Amazin but I'm certain a fellow gardener would rather the seeds were used asap.  PM me if interested.

Trifetti have tricoloured leaves - green purple and cream - I just assumed that's where they got their name from! Barnowl, you should be okay to sow now.

Blimey, G! Your chillies are way ahead of mine - well done!

(no, I'm not at all envious - this green complexion is a trick of the light).

;D

Do Triffiti chillies have green fruit, turning black then ripen to red?

LOL@Amazin.   ;D

Star, according to the blurb Amazin sent me, Trifetti have stumpy, tear-shaped, glossy hot purple fruits about 1"long which mature to red.
