Title: Blackbird nest at the Allotment
Post by: tonybloke on April 13, 2008, 16:41:23
I spotted this in my artichokes yesterday, she's got 3 eggs so far! only about 2 ft from the ground.

If I could post image direct I would, but this seems to work.

that is a real treat - curb curiosity though as she'll leave the nest if bothered too much - zoom lens?  ;D

I'll give a progress report when and if she successfully hatches and raises any chicks

just to let you know, a magpie has had the eggs!, The nest was a bit exposed.
However, good news!! at easter we had some vandalism at the site, a window was broken in a shed, and the blackbird is nesting in there.
