Title: Planting seeds

i have compost and was wondering wether I need to use neat compost or a mix.

I am going to start my sweetcorn.

i just used a genral multi purpose mix for mine & have done for years they grow very well in this as sweetcorn is a greedy plant

forgive my newbieness but do you mix any soil in or straight as it comes out of the bag ?

Straight from the bag, to add garden soil may contaminate it.
