So, I planted out my mange tout plants in the hot sunshine on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday there were 6 inches of snow on our plot. I went up today and my plants have got pale green blotches on them. The same has happened to my chard. Are they ok or should I plant new ones? Thanks
They should be OK, leave them for a while longer to see what happens.
The blotches were most likely caused by the sun magnifying the heat intensity through water droplets and scorching the leaf membrane.
These leaves might drop off and be replaced.
If you have more seed why not do a successional sowing.
This will either give you another crop or if I am wrong you will have something to replace the original crop with.
Thanks Tee Gee. I will put some more seeds in today so hopefully I will get a couple of crops. Thanks for the advice.
