some of my slips are quite large now and i think ready for removing but having read the wiki for sweet potatoes is says leave til they are 10 to 15 cms mine are probably 8 to 10, it also says to put them in water to allow them to root, i was sure that someone on here said i could plant them straight into compost for them to root in there, is this correct and if so should i didp them in rooting hormone powder?
thank you very much ;D
it was eristic, debster, I've taken mine off with a bit of potato and planted them, I think he said when they have 2 or 3 leaves, mine seem perfectly happy in the compost, been there about a week now and still going ;D
oh thanks manics, so you kind of dug off a bit of the spud with them did you? do you think at 8 to 10 cm mine are big enough?
edited to add i have just measured these slips they are only 5 to 6 cms is this too small
