I see as of April 14th Lidl has mosquito nets on sale for £3.99. I'm going to use mine for keeping out the carrot fly. Central post in the middle of the raised bed and the rest attached to all four sides (the post doesn't have to be more than two feet high). I'm sure it will work. ;D

The question is "how will they stand up to being outside?" Hope they work well for you but will stick to my debris netting which I now know is as tough as old boots.
Ive just been in Lidl, they're not in yet, I think they might do the job, even only for this year. Specially for us wot dont have debris netting ;D
Lauren, I read your posting last Monday just after returning from Lidl's - with two packs of mosquito netting bought specifically for stopping carrot fly!
Great minds...
;D
is debris netting fine enough for carrot fly - and does it let enough light in?
I have a full roll of it that I need to put to good use:-)
Would old net curtains do to keep out carrot fly, do you think?

They always used to. Keeps birds of the goosgogs and currants as well.
