Title: powdery mould on sweetcorn seeds????

quite bizarre as they have been kept dry and the sweetcorn itself isnt damp or rotten and they are seeds from last year?? ive still planted them in jiffys, to see what happens, anyone else ever had this problem? cheers sarah.

Are you sure it is not seed dressing on them ?

Are you seeds treated with fungicide? Some suppliers do this and when they have been in storage is shows like powder on surface..
Other possibility is that if you handled them last year during sowing and then put back into bag you could have provided enough moisture from your hands to get bit of fungal growth going on...?

looked like green mould to me!! unopened packet too???

Unopened....well sounds like fungicide to me...I've had it white, pink and green before... ;D Normally it is stated  in packet if it contain any added fungicide?
