Title: Mould on my paperpots
Post by: caseylee on April 02, 2008, 11:33:33
I have my leeks growing in newspaper pots at the moment, but have noticed some white mould growing on the outside of them near the bottom.  What can I do about this and is it dangerous for my leeks and other plants growing in there already.

I have used the loo roll cardboard inserts for a couple of years and this usually happens - I will wipe off mould if easy to access, but generally have just planted out with cardboard roll and have not noticed any problem. But would be interested in more expert opinion, which  I am  will be along soon

I've got the same on my loo rolls... I've been told not to worry about it so I've not, but I'm not expert... :)

I had "fluffy mould" on my newspaper pots last year, and the parsnips and broad beans seemed to survive just fine...
