Hi Guys,
Not sure if anyone is aware but there planning on moving the holding stack of planes from luton, london city and standsted airports over rural areas. One of the plans involves our village and were trying to stop it.
A group has been formed by concerned residents to raise awareness of the issues created by the NATS TCN proposal and to campaign to protect our countryside and community.
Please visit www.ruralpeace.org.uk for more information and take the time to sign the e-petition on the 10 Downing Street website http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/ruralpeace/
I would appreciate you signing this and you might want to check your not affected.
Cam
How miserable for you... I'd have them taking off & landing over the sea if it was up to me... safer & quieter for everyone.
So sorry for you. Have just signed and am number 249.
yippie
Although there is is an answer why NOT. But why don't they put these Airports in the coastal areas where the take off and landing can go out over the sea.
MM
I still miss Concorde flying over my house every day.
Number 250
Signed - fingers crossed!

Me thinks Airports are positioned around population centres (ie customers), like London, Birmingham, Manchester.
There ain't much around coastal area around Birmingham ;)
You want to come over here to the East Mids according to a news report we now have 55 flights a night going into East Mids which is more than Heathrow and Gatwick and most of them must go over our house :(
Where will they go if I sign?. They might want to come down here. No thanks.
It's gone very quiet here, Ace. Was it something you said, do you think? 8)
Planes are the background to our life living so close to Birmingham Airport.
They want to extend the runways and we think we may be affected.
Who would have thought this could happen to our lovely Warwickshire villages.?
Signed!! x
Sorry, I don't feel I can sign it. I use Luton Airport and fly from their several times a year.
I don't believe signing a "I dont want planes in my sky" and then go and use them because its the modern method of transport is a contradiction.
Either fly and accept the consequences or, never use them (or use/buy anything that was transported in them).
I don't agree, PW! Whether camb flies or not will have no impact on the number of flights. We vote & campaign for change but live with what we have... there are more sensible options that could be persued but are ignored - such as using the Isle of Wight as a huge airport...
Isn't that right ACE?!?!
But think of the traffic queues for the ferry in Southampton and Pompey .... ;D

Hang on a minute, being a little bit behind the times here, we are just getting to grips with the concept of a wheel.

Also Canvey Island, Sheppey or, my favourite, Manston
We've lost our imagination and nerve as a result of government interfered with b*lls ups like the Dome and Wembley
.... the problem is not having more planes in the sky, its better location and use of resources.
Most flights do not leave full in fact one airline flying out of a local airport had to pay actors and give them free flights to hit passanger targets.

How many buses do you see with only a handfull of passengers, there's probably 100's driving all over the land as i type. How many cars do you see with only the driver, there's probably 10000's as i type... planes leaving half empty is nothing compared everything else..
Anyway my office is 300 yds from the end of Heathrow's south runway, and where i live in Berks is on the main flight path into Heathrow - and it does'nt bother me....
I am lucky that I do not live near a big airport. I do live close to an aerodrome for private planes and gliders. In the spring and summer monthes the private planes 'playing' are irritating to say the least, I cannot imagine what it must be like to live near a flightpath of an international airport..................
signed ;)

That was Norwich, its only just up the road, If they had given me a ticket I`d have flown for free. several times.
They should have given away tickets in a competition or to charity raffles.
