Hi Gunnerbee.......did you enjoy yourself @ Daves Seeds?

Here is another good one that I use in Canada.   The seed packets are writen in French.

Oh yeah beefsteaks.....I have Brandy Wine.  Excelent flavour big beefsteak and a classic tomato.

There was several beefstaek varieties in the tomato swaps so you might want to hang on a bit

Thanks for that Jeannine.   However, I do have small supplies of a couple of hundred seed on a few varieties that I have taken over the last couple of years.

Brandy Wine is one of them. It is a tasty tomato and a good starting point for someone wanting to try beefsteaks.

I didn't include all the varieties that I had spare when I sent to you because some of them are of the more popular types and I wanted to include some tomato types that are more difficult to obtain.

I, like you, tramp the globe looking for seed of all kind and it is part of my enjoyment to try foods and tastes that I still remain a mystery.

Oh what I meant was as they are some of the previously mentioned ones in the packets, hold off as there may not be a need to do a swap.

I garee with the Brandywine , although I think they have been somewaht abused over the years,I think the term is used rather loosely.

I have about 15 different types I think, even a white one but I do sometimes wonder about their authenticity. Still good toms in their own right.

I think the term beefsteak can be confusing as can the term cherry and for that matter roma too.

Their is one tomato actually called Beefsteak as there is one called Cherry and Roma, but over the years these three have come to mean a description, so I think most folks use it loosely now. I guess at some time we will get one called The Original Beefsteak, The Original Cherry, The Original Roma, as I see some sellers have one called The Original Brandywine

Fun stuff  this tom collecting!!
