I'm really pleased to discover this morning that at long last the frogs have been busy and the pond is full of spawn.
I was beginning to worry that they'd got the dreaded frog virus that seems to be killing them off all over the place. We usually get the frogspawn end of Feb start of March so it's later this year. I'm just glad it's there.
yaaay, frog babies ;D
I am so excited! I found frogspawn in my tiny water feature this morning. ;D I was really worried for the frogs because the new next door neighbours filled in their pond last year. >:( But bless their cotton socks the frogs are not to be outdone. Here's a couple of pics. G x

The water feature is only about 15"x 10".

Do I have time to do a lottie pond in a bathtub and find some frogspawn for this year, I think John could get in done in about a week or so. XX Jeannine
Frogs are still clamped together in my pond, but no sign of spawn yet.
9 year old son getting very impatient.
Asked me this morning:"When are those frogs going to mate mum?" ;)

Frogspawn was late this year in my pond as well - had just about given up, but it arrived a few days ago. The ponds at the top of the allotment site had some weeks ago, perhaps it has been cooler further dome the site where I am- the frost certainly lingers there for longer.
my taddies are on the move now! they have been in a lump where the spawn was. my pond is in a cool shady bit of garden that ices up easily and it hasn,t harmed them at all
marg
None in our pond yet but just as well since it is supposed to go down to -5 C.
We're not finished with ice :-[
No guarantee that ice is finished here either but statistically it's highly likely.
Jeannine our pond was filled with water on 17th august 1996. when 5 came home from work on 18ty august the frogs had moved in. They'e been with us ever since.
You are so lucky,I have a tiny pond on the allotment and never any frogspawn.I have seen the odd frog around but not in the pond.
I have tadpoles about 1cm long already. The toads have appeared today aswell.
I have taddies in the pond, but to my amazement I also have them in a bucket of pond water I took out a couple of weeks ago when I was hoping to net a couple of Golden Orfe for a friend (but gave up as they are just too clever for me!).

Frogs have now done their thing.
There were 5 frogs (odd one out didn't stand a chance), and now 2 clumps of spawn.
9 year old son is very happy!

Can anyone give me any ideas on how to make a water feature at my allotment to attract frogs, cause there are tons of slugs down there. I would love to do something that is cheap and cheerful please
Hi Casey,
Cheap and cheerful is dig a hole and sink a washing-up bowl, sink with plug hole covered, babies bath, in fact anything that holds water. You'll sure get frogs.
