Title: breeding crickets

strange queation I know, but we have some pets that have to have crickets, and the cost a fortue the amount they eat.  Does anyone know how I can breed them, has anyone on here tried it before.  Any suggestions welcomed

They are really easy to breed.
Get a cheap plastic fish tank, cover the bottom with sand for them to lay eggs in. For food bran or poultry layer mash are 2 of the cheapest options just put a bit in an old jar lid or a small bowl & top up as needed. Don't leave an open water container instead provide a piece of damp cotton wool & remoisten or replace it as needed, alternately you can put in a slice of potato (replaced every few days) for them to get moisture from. They will need to be kept somewhere warm to encourage them to breed.

I strongly reccommend you place a piece of mosquito net under the lid of the tank baby crickets are tiny & will escape if they get the opportunity.
If you would prefer to keep the different generations of crickets seperate then instead of putting sand on the bottom just put in a container filled with either sand, soil or moss. Every couple of weeks remove the container & place it in a new tank when the eggs hatch out start providing food & water for the baby crickets.
