Post by: Jeannine on March 24, 2008, 19:45:02
Hi, I have grown many squash but never grown marrows and I fancy having a go at growing a big one just for a bit of fun.

Does anyone have any advice??

Jokes welcome from friends!!

I do have seeds if anyone wants to have a go with me as I truly have no idea.

I'll have a go!

IF....the only space I'll have will be in mostly shade, oh! and I might not be getting the garden hose to it on a reg'lar basis, and I've got no access to manure,  but......yeah! Bring it on!! So please can I have a coupla seeds (to grow and love and cherish just one marrow - the Winner, like...)?

I love marrows, they make me go all sentimental!

My grandad used to grow my name on them for me, my pricking it on small marrows with a pin when they are tiny, and the name 'magically' grows as the marrow does. I did this for my kids last year and they got quite attached to 'their' marrows, I had trouble getting them to eat them as they wanted to keep them! ;D
